Strawberries in May
Now is the time to eat strawberries. Eat them straight out of the punnet, from the field, your garden and so forth…
Add some sugar if they’re too tart, mint leaves, honey or – of course – whipped cream.
Strawberries are the perfect accompaniment for dry champagne, cut them up and drop them into your glass as you drink it or just simply stuff your face with the yummy berries as you’re getting tipsy.
Strawberries go well on cake, they’re made for jam, you could even turn them into a fancy Coulis for your dessert. Speaking of dessert, strawberries are mighty fine when turned into sorbet!
Either way, make use of the strawberry season while it lasts. Eat them now and don’t bother buying any during the rest of the year….until it is May again!
